Introduction

As a specialised maths class student in secondary school, I was equally interested in history, biology, and literature. To this day, my love of reading and logical thinking help me to gain new knowledge and to continually learn. So, why did I choose medicine as my profession? My main motives were witnessing the prolonged and painful illness of my beloved great-grandmother and my desire to help those in need. Human life and giving people the chance to live their lives well are both important and valuable to me. Our goals should be prevention, the treatment of diseases detected in the earliest stage possible, and follow-up and care of already existing conditions, pain management and preservation of movement, all of which contribute to a better quality of life. These goals can only be achieved through the co-operation between physicians and patients. I am grateful to my former professors who had a vast knowledge and were also of great character personally, to my elder colleagues for sharing their knowledge with me, to my patients I met during the decades for showing their will to heal, love and perseverance, and to my beloved family and my current co-workers for their support and for providing the backdrop needed for my work to be successful.

Suspension of outpatient and inpatient care in non-acute cases

Dear Visitor,

Amidst the current epidemiological situation and in line with the orders of the competent government bodies, the Buda Health Center (BEK Kft.) is suspending its outpatient and inpatient care in non-acute cases. This mainly pertains to the National Center for Spinal Disorders’ surgical care: as of today, the institute will only see patients in need of acute spinal treatment based on the referral of a general practitioner or a medical clinic specialist. We would like to ask our Patients not to make any further appointments as we will only keep this option open for referring doctors.

As far as ongoing treatments are concerned, our dispatchers will continuously keep patients posted following the guidance of their respective doctors. Should you have any questions, we recommend contacting your doctor via email through the institute’s email address.

This measure will change based on central orders upon the alleviation of the epidemic.

Sincerely,

Péter Pál Varga, M.D.
